What Kind of Waste Can You Put In?
Most household, garden and building waste is fine to go straight in. Here's a breakdown by category.
Household Waste
General clearout waste from home clean-ups, house moves and decluttering.
Garden Waste
Green waste from garden clearances, landscaping and tree work.
Construction & Rubble
Heavier waste from renovations, demolitions and building work.
Wood & Timber
Untreated and treated wood offcuts, old furniture and joinery waste.
Scrap Metal
Metal offcuts and old fixtures — often recycled rather than landfilled.
Mixed Waste
A combination of the above — most skips are booked for mixed loads.

Get the Most Out of Your Skip
A well-loaded skip fits more in and stays within the safe fill line. A few small habits make a big difference.
Get an Instant QuoteBreak down bulky items
Flatten boxes and dismantle large furniture where you can — it saves a surprising amount of space.
Load heavy items first
Put bricks, rubble and heavy debris in the bottom, then build lighter waste on top.
Fill gaps with smaller waste
Use loose rubble and smaller offcuts to fill the gaps between bigger pieces.
Don't overfill
Keep waste level with the top of the skip — by law we can't transport an overfilled skip on the road.
Keep hazardous items separate
